Implant Surgery

If you lose one or more teeth, dental implants are recommended to replace the function of the natural teeth.

Dental Implant Surgery involves planting an artificial titanium root into the upper and lower jaw bones. Once an abutment-supported-crown is placed 3 to 6 months after the surgery, you can easily chew food and smile confidently.

Titanium implants are exceptionally durable, and following proper teeth brushing techniques ensures a lifelong usage of the implanted tooth.

Dr. Kim has placed over 15,000 successful dental implants and looks forward to helping patients receive the proper care they need here in Rowland Heights.

Root Canal Treatment

When the natural tooth has a bacterial infection, the nerves of the tooth become infected. Left untreated, the infection may spread to the gum and jawbone, causing severe pain.

Some signs that patients might need a root canal treatment are:

  • Persistent tooth pain

  • Sensitivity to heat and cold

  • Pain when eating

  • Swollen gums

  • Tooth that feels loose

Root canal treatment is recommended to save the natural tooth in a timely manner and avoid extracting it. While implant technology is great, natural teeth are considered best and Dr. Kim does his best to save natural teeth when salvageable.

Orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment can improve the quality of patients’ lives by restoring their confidence in smiling and improving their chewing experience.

Periodontal Surgery

Periodontal surgery restores severe gum loss and treats bone/gum inflammation and infection via osseous flap surgery, gum graft surgery, and guided bone regeneration surgery. Patients may need periodontal surgery if they have severe disease around their gums and tissues that support their teeth.

Oral Surgery

Dr. Kim offers solutions to most oral surgery cases such as complicated third molar (wisdom tooth) extractions, autotransplantation (transferring a natural tooth to another area in the upper or lower jaws), alveoloplasty, frenectomy, and more.

Complete Denture

If you have lost all of your teeth, getting a full denture can be a proper treatment plan to restore your teeth and aesthetics.

A full denture treatment might be a more affordable option for patients compared to getting implants. However, sometimes, a full denture may not be perfectly stable on the lower jaw and patients may need an over-denture that is supported by an implant.

TMJ Treatment

TMJ treatment (or temporomandibular joint treatment) is for patients that suffer from joint pain, chronic headache, shoulder pain, and spinal problems due to the irregularities in their jaw joints.

TMJ surgery may be recommended to patients if they:

  • can’t fully open or close their mouth

  • feel consistent pain or tenderness when opening or closing their mouth

  • have difficulty eating or drinking due to jaw pain and/or immobility

Full Mouth Reconstruction

When a patient has severe oral health issues (missing teeth, tooth fracture, alveolar bone loss, etc.) full mouth reconstruction may be necessary to build back their healthy oral structure. This requires a combination of treatments that is personalized for the patient.
